For those of you who don't know, "Top Turnbuckle" is a reference to the top rope in a boxing or WWE ring. The fact that his debut album is named after Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson coupled with the risks associated with pursuing a music career make the title of the single fitting. Sam Adams: "I'm On"
I'm going to be honest. I was pretty surprised by this track that DJ Whoo Kid recently premiered. Having heard more than enough of Sammy Adams' previous material, I was anticipating another track with the Boston boy in your face, probably sounding overexcited and inexperienced. But instead he delivers a much more paced flow, better rhymes, and displays a maturity that was clearly lacking in his earlier work. That being said, I'm not saying the track is spectacular, just that it's worth a listen. Download the Ski Beatz produced track below.
Kyle Rapps: "Love, Love" ft. KRS-One and Homeboy Sandman
Kyle Rapps is back after his "Drive Slow" collaboration with Donny Goines. He brings us "Love, Love" with the legendary KRS-One and the witty Homeboy Sandman. The track was produced by Analogic. Rapp has a forthcoming mixtape which is going to be a remake of "Edutainment", produced entirely by Kev Brown. Check out and download the track below.
Ro Spit: "Too Easy" Video
The music video, directed by Davy Greenberg, isn't new but is worthy of the exposure. Ro Spit apparently does it all and without much effort either. In the music video, Ro is lounging with his crew as the 2 minute visual gives us a direct look into his hangout as well as artistic taste and perhaps influence via the work (Kaws) displayed. It's only a matter of time before this guy gets signed. I was impressed with the quality of his 87 Dreams mixtape and it's nice to see that he's continuing to put out good material.
