Skyzoo Announces New Mixtape: Theo vs. JJ: Dreams vs. Reality

Skyzoo's got a treat for his fans before he lets them hear his Hughes-esque sophomore album, A Dream Deferred. In a recent interview with The Well Versed, the Closed Sessions alum stated that the Theo vs. JJ: Dreams vs. Reality mixtape will serve as a sequel to his debut album, The Great Debater and as a prequel to his forthcoming album. Here's what the Brooklyn-native had to say about the tape's title:

" It pretty much serves as the middle ground between The Great Debater and A Dream Deferred. No one knows this yet so you guys get the exclusive, the mixtape is called Theo vs JJ: Dreams vs. Reality. Theo from the Cosbys pretty much represents the dream, and JJ from Good Times is the reality of it."

Pretty cool. Check out the rest here

T.I.: "I Need Dollas"

Aloe Blacc's "I Need a Dollar" came out about two years ago, so I'd say it's past its sampling prime. I'm guessing that this track is an older one that T.I. had laying around. The track has been sampled by a handful of other artists such as Yelawolf and Marky but this track is the most processed version I've heard. Anyway, check out the track below.

Stalley: "Blue Sky" Freestyle

Yes...this is the ELO (Electric Light Orchestra) "Blue Sky". Stalley's back again and this time it's on the No I.D. produced "Blue Sky" from Common's The Dreamer/The Believer. I'm wondering how many tracks the Ohio-native is sitting on since he has a mixtape coming out in the near future and has been giving listeners a constant stream of new tracks in the last week or so.

R.O.E.: "Hear Ye'" ft. Neak X Sincerely Yours

The homies, R.O.E. and Neak, sent this new track over and it's a banger. R.O.E. and Neak teamed up with Sincerely Yours and producer Slot-A for a track where the emcees attack the percussion-laden beat. This one was meant to be played loudly. Enjoy

Big K.R.I.T. Finishes 4evaNaDay

Krizzle had previously announced that he was going to release a mixtape prior to his Def Jam debut, Live From the Underground, but I didn't think it'd be out so soon. K.R.I.T. said that the mixtape will drop on February 20th and the first single off of Live From the Underground is supposed to be released tomorrow. The release date of his first album was originally set for September 27th, 2011 but got pushed back when he had issues clearing samples. Anyway, K.R.I.T. finished the tape and gave us this as proof. Now for the wait...

STS: "Downhill" (The xx - Shelter Flip)

Sugar Tongue Slim's latest installment in the Gold Rush series features the Atlanta-Philly rapper (can we just call STS an A.T.elphia or Phatlanta rapper already?) making The xx's "Shelter" his own. The track's video shows footage of STS's recent show at the Theatre of the Living Arts in Philadelphia. Gold Rush will be released on February 29th.

John Legend: "Tonight (Best You Ever Had)" ft. Ludacris

I was fortunate enough to see John Legend speak and perform last night. If you ever have the chance to see Mr. Legend speak, perform, or do both, do it. He was a great speaker and he sounds as  good performing live as anyone I have ever heard and will likely ever hear. Anyway... he released a new track which is featured on the Think Like A Man soundtrack. "Tonight (Best You Ever Had)" is a bit different than the piano-playing crooner's usual material and you'll hear the difference shortly after hitting play. This track is going to be released as a single on January 31st.
