[Video] Trebles & Blues- 808's & Quintets Beat Video
You ever listen to a song and really dig the beat and just wonder something like damn, I wish I could do that. Well if you want to know how to make some dope beats you can easily just click play on this video and watch Trebles & Blues create some magic. He creates this 808's & Quintets beat which sounds like it would be straight out of your mom's record collection and gives you an eerie vibe to the past. I could definitely see this having someone like Wiz Khalifa or Curren$y throw some bars over it. The Blue Note coming before you even know it. You can check out the video right below.
The Talented Tenth- Stop & Listen
I haven't written in a day or so, sorry for my absence but I think this more than makes up for it. I know you always are looking for a song that is dope that someone hasn't heard before. I woke up this morning and came across this gem from DMV's The Talented Tenth which consists of rappers AnMor & Jered Sanders. The song gets production from an underground legend in Oddisee and really brings out the duo's lyrical strengths. You can grab the mp3 right down below.
Mac Miller: "She Said"
Mac Miller made it to the cover of XXL's top Freshman of 2011. I knew Mac would make it so much praise goes to the kid, he deserves it. Me and RTC are going to have some interesting things to say about that XXL list coming soon so make sure you guys check back for that one. Mac Miller, as a present for making that cover, released She Said for all the Mac Millionaires out there. I have been seriously vibing to every song that has been coming out from him lately and She Said hasn't changed my stance. He did a great job with K.I.D.S. but there is definitely room for improvement and he has been showing it so I'm excited to see what's next for Mac. Best Day Ever is due out March 11th and you can grab She Said right below.
J. Good ft. Ayomari & Keno: "The Rush" (Prod. Jansport J)
Dang another dope California spitter? This time it comes in the form of J. Good who teams up with fellow West-siders Ayomari & Keno along with Jansport J on the beat. The three team up to, as the title tells, talk about failed relationships. Yeah I understand the title is not actually failed relationships but deals with the rush and J. Good, Ayomari & Keno take the time to give us a little tale that so many of us guys are way to familiar with. The production on this track is so smooth and gives you that real good hip hop feel. You can grab the track right below.
Hollywood Floss ft. Laws: "Dream Killer 2.0"
Dream Killer 2.0 will be off of Hollywood Floss' upcoming project One Fan At A Time. Ok got that out of the way so now lets talk about the song. I have to admit this is the first time that I have pressed play on a Hollywood Floss song but better late than never because I am digging this one. He comes together with Laws and an addictive hook to create a well worth first single. After two listens I already was singing along to the song and that is far from something bad and we both have or used to have a beat up Honda so word up to Floss on that front. Grab a little bit of Floss right down below.
Asher Roth- Ash [Voorhees Remix]
The man himself Trade Voorhees strikes again and this time Asher Roth is the victim. Not only can Voorhees show his skills with the mic he is equally dangerous behind the boards. It is seeming like everything that Voorhees touches turns to cold and if you doubt me just press play and enjoy Asher Roth more than you ever have before.
[Video] Nardwuar x Das Racist
Can it get much better than this? The quirkiest interviewer gets the chance to interview one of the most unique rap groups and it plays for a great interview. Nardwuar met up with Das Racist when they were in Canada to create this greatness. If you haven't watched any Nardwuar interviews in the past then this is an awesome place to start.
Frank Ocean- Nostalgia, Ultra [LP]
OddFuture, they blew up on The Jimmy Fallon show so you guys have to know what I am talking about now even though I picked Tyler as one of my 2011 freshman way way way back when. But this is a different side of OddFuture. You won't find that vulgarity, beats to die for, and shock factor but when you play Frank Ocean you can't help but be tranced by his music. Frank Ocean possesses the soul factor of OFWGKTA and boy does he bring it. He has music that will easily steal your girl right from under you or if you play it right will keep you up all night. You can grab Frank's LP right down below.
