[LP] Mike Golden and Friends: Groceries
Last night Mike Golden and Friends released their debut LP, Groceries. The new album is a free release, available via MikeGoldenandFriends.com. The album is a great representation of rock n' roll in 2011, with Mike trying to carry torch for a sound and style that is sometimes stale and out of touch. Groceries, much like what you find in the store, covers a variety of topics, and incorporates multiple genres. Mike Golden and Friends will celebrate the release this Thursday at the Double Door.
[Music] Naledge: "Ben Wilson's Revenge"
Naledge goes in over subtle trumpets on Ben Wilson's revenge, named for the Chicago basketball star who was killed on the first day of his senior year of high school. This freestyle comes just a few weeks after the Kidz In The Hall dropped their new album, Occasion. No rest or days off in the life of a Brainiac. Download the new freestyle below.

[Music] Black Keys To Stream Concert In NYC
The Black Keys have a new album being released tomorrow. The LP in question, El Camino, is a Danger Mouse produced affair and is the follow up to their smash, Brothers. The duo celebrate the new album tonight with a show at Webster Hall. The 1,400 person venue is probably the smallest place the Keys will play for the near future. They are set to kick off a headlining arena tour this spring, including a Chicago show at the United Center on March 18th.
The concert will be streaming live starting at 9PM EST. Watch it here.
[Video] Nemo Achida: "Nemotional"
In the words of Nemo Achida:
"The Nemotional video is about the imprisonment of artists. Creating, doing as much as you can to please the consumer. In a way, we don't own ourselves. The media/press, "in-crowd", tastemakers all can make/break you. I'm blind-folded throughout most of the visual because, you do all of this work, with no true-certainty of a flourishing-future....I hope you all enjoy my vision...PEACE x POWER."
[Video] Wheatie G: "What's New"
Wheatie G is an up and coming cat from the city of Chicago. He recently graduated from Thornridge, and is now hitting the books at Columbia. I'm a product of CPS and currently teach at Columbia, so it's only right that I checked out some of the kid's music. I can dig it. Wheatie's got some promise to go along with an interesting rap handle. Check out his video for "What's New" after the jump. And look for more Wheatie on RH soon.
