Asher Roth Issues Statement on Twitter/Associated Press Comments
So, I have not posted anything about Asher Roth's Twitter comments last week about "chilling with some Nappy Headed Hoes." I saw them last week when they went up, and thought that the kid was referring to his performance at Rutgers in a way that would not sit well with many, and was a, 'wait...that didn't come out right' kind of moment. I also followed eskay's coverage of the whole thing, which I thought was pretty dope. Well, today, Asher Roth released a statement regarding his comment on Twitter, as well as this interview he did in which he talked about rappers not giving back to their communities. RH Photos: U-N-I's Midwest Weekend Pt. 1
Last weekend Cali's U-N-I made their first trip to the Midwest, making a stop in Madison, WI before continuing onto Chicago and hosting our Creme De La Creme at Lava Lounge. We were told to meet Thurz and YO for their show at the University of Wisconsin at 11 AM Friday morning. So, we packed our ish, left Mano's bday party early and headed out bright and early to UW. Just after crossing the Wisconsin border, we learned that the show was actually at 11PM, which made a lot more sense, and left us with a day to take in the beauty that is the University of Wisconsin. What follows are our photos from the show, and what will follow that are pics from our night on the town that included two college house parties, randomly running into Hollywood Holt and checking in with DJ Benzi who was also in town.
