Alex Goose: The Blueprint 3 Outtakes

Blueprint 3

What do you when Jay-Z passes on your beats?  Humbly go back to the lab?  Hang your head in shame?  Bury yourself in Madden '10?  Alex Goose decided to put everything on the table, as he releases the "beat CD" he gave to Hova for Blueprint 3.  Jay didn't take Alex up on any of his beat offerings, but the kid definitely has some fire as witnesses on the BP3 Out Takes.  Goose is currently in Atlanta, where he's working on a few different projects, most notably with our homie GLC.  You can check out the track list and grab the project below.

RH TV: Who Is Mayer Hawthorne?

Mayer Hawthorne

Is it old? Is it new? Is this guy for real? Those are some of the questions surrounding Stones Throw's Mayer Hawthorne. The Ann Arbor native released A Strange Arrangement on September 8th, and has since been criss-crossing the country on a sellout tour. Exactly Who Mayer Hawthorne is, and what he does is the subject of this investigative piece as we speak to the man himself, as well as his Athletic Mic League cohorts Buff1 and 14KT during their stop in Chicago.  Check out the video below to see for yourself.

Kosha Dillz: "Cellular Phone" Video

Cell Phone

My homie Kosha Dillz gave me something to shake my hangover today...not really, I wasn't really hungover.  Hangovers are for suckas!!!!  Anyway, Mr. Dillz, the hardest working man in show business, dropped off his new video for "Cellular Phones", which is the first single off his upcoming LP, Beverly Dillz.  Check the video out below, I definitely can dig it.

Twista Hits The Gym for NBA 2K10

Twista

Chicago rap veteran Twista is in the best shape of his life, as evidenced by the photo above, taken from NBA 2K10.  Twista kept his ballin' regiment very low key, always appearing in baggy clothes as he released his last album this summer, Category F5.  "I don't like to talk about my game, I just like to play my game," Twista told us.  "People always ask me to compare myself to a basketball player, and I say 'Jeff Hornacek.'  He's just a guy from small town, IL, and does his job...I thought, 'man, if that guy wasn't on the Jazz and s**t, I'd really f**k with him...yeah, man, Jeff Hornacek."

Mic Terror: "Juke Dem Hoes" (Stereo Heroes Remix)

Mic Terror

Less James Brown on this remix of Mic Terror's "Juke Dem Hoes". Stereo Heroes also redo the hook removing quite a few "hos"...However, they lose the PG-13 rating by keeping and emphasizing the "40's" part of the song.  That's all I'll say.  Download it below.

Damn! That's Some New S**t!

Reflection Eternal

Canada looks better and better. At a festival I wish I'd known about earlier, otherwise known as The Manifesto Festival of Community and Culture, Reflection Eternal treated after party participants to new tracks.  Hi-Tek got through a couple before fans started begging (literally) for "The Blast".  Cameo by 9th Wonder, who is also in the video. The Manifesto Festival took place Sept 16th-20th in Toronto.

Sene: "EveryDejaVu" (prod. by GODlee Barnes)

Sene

Sene and Blu (producing here under the name GODlee Barnes) teamed up for an album a little bit ago, it never got released, and is now dropping on Oct. 13th via Shaman Works.  The album is nuts, and Sene, who impressed me on the US3 album, really performed the hell out of these songs.  The album is entitled A Day Late And A Dollar Short and it is a great listen all the way through, especially driving in the rain through downtown Chicago.  Download the "EveryDejaVu" right here (sorry, no stream), and look for more on this album very soon.
