Blu

“Of course God gotta floss, keep’em all salty.”

Black Star released their new joint, “Fix Up”, on Black Friday.  The new song is produced by Madlib, and kicks off some sort of re-emergence from Talib Kweli and Mos Def Yasiin.  Anyone familiar with the inner-workings of Hip Hop and beat placement knows that producers often send the same song to multiple artists, just to see what catches.  Every once in a while, two emcees will pick the same record, and this type of situation arises.  Blu had a song recorded for what became “Fix Up”, and he send it over to OKP to share.  Blu’s version, entitled “ez” is Blu’s classic lo-fi recording style, and lyrical dexterity.  I dig Blu’s version in which he compares himself to Lebron James, pictures himself in Forbes, and speaks on God’s need to floss. S**t is dope. Hopefully we’ll get more Madlib x Blu joints, as supposedly Blu has a whole project over Madlib production that just never saw the light of day.

What version do you think is better?
