[Through My Lens] Shooting with Phoenix

Photos by Bobby Reys

Last week, I shared some photos from a location I scouted out for a possible photo shoot, and this week I wanted to share the results of some recent shots I took with Phoenix. I knew when I first found the place that Phoenix would be the one I would want to shoot there because of her style and attitude that comes across so well in photos. The day was cold and rainy, but that did not stop us from venturing out to see what the both of us could create. The location really gave us a good backdrop to work with, along with Phoenix's choice of outfits that made for a fun shoot. You can check out some of the photos I took of Phoenix here. For more, you can check out my blog.

Beyonce Covers Out Magazine by Santiago & Mauricio

Liberated Beyonce Covers the Power Issue for Out Magazine

Photos by Santiago & Mauricio

Beyoncé Knowles steals the spotlight once again as she channels her inner Marilyn Monroe on the cover of Out magazine's annual May Power Issue, on newsstands April 22. The issue was beautifully photographed by Santiago & Mauricio and styled by Lysa Cooper, and it's actually her first major cover since dropping her self-titled album back in December. With a sultry glance, platinum blond wig, and strands of pearls draping down her breast, the superstar embodies the legendary sex symbol effortlessly.

Aside from the stunning photo spread, the article includes an exclusive interview where she shares her opinion on the double standards in the music industry, and on the release of her most sexually liberated album to date. Going even further, the singer released exclusive remixes of tracks 'Blow' and 'XO' for the article. In defying typical marketing strategies for the release of her surprise self titled visual album, and wrapping up a successful world tour, there is no question as to why she was selected for this issue.

Check out the following photos from Beyonce's photo spread and let us know what you think.

Racial Profiling Book: The New Global Mexican by Marina Garcia-Vasquez

Photos by Carlos Alvarez Montero

Statistically, Mexican Americans make up 10.9% of the United States' population with over 34 million documented Americans, making the US home to the second largest Mexican community in the world, second only to Mexico itself.  With all this in mind, Mex and the City and photographer Carlos Alvarez Montero came together to curate a portrait series titled Racial Profiling. The series highlights prominent, influential Mexicans alongside Q&As to highlight their professional successes in New York, Mexico City, and Los Angeles.

What started out mainly as a project within NYC turned into a Kickstarter to grow support to fund their pursuit to publish a book. Titled Racial Profiling Book: The New Global Mexican, it will show the diversity of the global contemporary Mexican identity from NYC, LA, Mexico City, and London. This project will only be funded if at least $15,000 is pledged by

Check the following portraits and check out more here. If you would like to back this project, be sure to go here.

Ends Wealth Corp Spring line by Dominique Shepherd and Brandon Breaux

Ends/Wealth Corp Releases a Fresh Spring Line

Photos by Dominique Shepherd, Illustration by Brandon Breaux

Spring is finally here and as the weather warms up, we start to see layers of clothing peel off, revealing fresh new clothes for the season. And to keep trends current, Ends/WealthCorp is releasing a fresh Spring line with eight new graphic tees. Included in this release will be a Reflective Lightweight Sweatshirt, and a long and short sleeve tee inspired by Aaliyah that positions her as Mother Mary. A very creative and intriguing concept. The collection will also include a Fuck The Wave (FTW) Graphic Tee available in three colorways.

What's even more enticing is the photography and illustration used to advertise the new line. Photographed by Dominique Shepherd and Illustrated by Brandon Breaux, who was most recently recognized for the work he did on Chance The Rapper's 10 Day and Acid Rap album covers.

Everything is available now at shop.endswealthcorp.com and in-store at Revive.

Natalie Dormer for GQ Magazine by Will Davidson

Game of Thrones' Natalie Dormer Shows Us Her Killer Queen Side

Game of Thrones Season 4 kicks off this Sunday on HBO, and like many die hard fans, I can't wait. One of my favorite characters (second to the Queen of Dragons of course) of the books and series is Margaery Tyrell, who is played by English actress Natalie Dormer. This season will feature a lot more of Margaery, who will become the Queen of the Seven Kingdoms and marry the most hated character on TV, Joffrey Baratheon.

Natalie graces this month's GQ magazine in a very sexy punk way, shaving the side of her head for her role as Cressida in the final Hunger Games films.  Photographer Will Davidson puts his lens to Natalie's milky skin and piercing eyes, giving us a sexy attitude-filled spread. Check out the photos and video on how to date the future Queen of Westeros below.
