Curren$y: "Smash On O'Leary"
"Flew to the moon cause they said it was made of cheese, be it string or the bank it's all good with me."
There is nothing going on but the bomb ass rap song. Curren$y does it again... Repeat... Repeat... Repeat!

Cool Kids x Stalley At The 24 Hour Karate School
The Cool Kids and Stalley hit up Dame Dash's A/V factory known as Creative Control and produced "Do It Big", which is produced musically by Ski Beatz. Dame Dash's lair, known as his 24 Hour Karate School is a pretty cool idea, and I'm down with it. It kind of reminds me of something that some dudes are doing in Chicago where artists just vibe out in the studio and make songs with each other... I forgot the name of that though. Anyway, check out the video below.

The Beat Gods: "Ham" featuring 4-Ize
"Some times I feel like we've been outcasted, that's cool cause Outkast still outlasted..."
Most songs with "Ham" in the title make me cringe, but this one is very dope. Props to Kato for sending over, and for producing such a gem. Download/listen to it right here.
Joe Budden: "Money's On Me"
"They say the devil wears prada, no I don't."
I got this sent over last night with a message that Joe Budden wanted to leak a new song to set the tone for 2010. Set the tone he did. I think Joe is one of those emcees, that can literally rap his ass off. Naledge loves to use the term "rapping ass rappers"... and Joe Budden is one of those, dude is immensely talented at not only putting words together but conveying passion and sense of urgency through his music. I think he's quietly become of my favorite emcees. Anyway, check out the 2010 fire-starter, "Money's On Me" below.
Athletic Mic League: "Team Player" (14KT Foolin' Around Remix)
True story, Athletic Mic League's Jungle Gym Jungle is one of my favorite LP's ever. In 2004 I had just graduated from Indiana University, and a few weeks later found myself living and teaching in L.A. as part of Teach For America's training. I fell pretty hard for another TFA corp member, and would walk around campus with AML in my CD player with "Team Player" on repeat singing to myself, 'girl, tell me what it takes to get you on my team"... The CD got me through some tough times, and it's a story I've shared with Buff and KT many times. Anyway, the crew is going to re-release the album now that Buff and Mayer Hawthorne (DJ Haircut) have gotten more notoriety since the original release. So, check out the "Team Player" remix, and look for the full album soon.

Young Scolla: "Decisions"
It is self-defeating if you choose an improper spelling for the word "scholar"? Anyway, Young Scolla hits us with "Decisions", a song in which the Detroit native takes on the persona of a single-mother, and a corner hustler each faced with decisions between doing the right thing, and doing what's necessary. It's not an unexplored topic, but Young Scolla is able to provide a fresh take, smooth delivery, and clever lyrics. The song is also the lead single from his forthcoming Escaping Reality EP. Grab it below.
