Chiddy Bang have been building up buzz for their official debut album since last year when they dropped a slew of videos, a well received EP, and caught fire with a performance at Lollapalooza. The album, which is still unreleased, is now said to be hitting the streets this summer also with a new name. Formerly titled Swelly Express, the duo of producer Xaphoon Jones and emcee Chiddy have changed the name to Breakfast. The album will contain 12 tracks, produced mostly by Xaphoon Jones who also explained the name change. “The reason we re-named the album Breakfast is because 1.) We Eatin’, 2.) It’s the most important yet most most neglected meal of the day, 3.) It’s the first course on our musical journey, and 4.) I can cook really fluffy eggs – double boil technique.”
Along with the new LP, Chiddy Bang are celebrating their win at the MTV Woodies, where they picked up a trophy for video of the year. They also announced that they will be performing at this year’s Bamboozle Road Show. Find info and tickets here.
