The U.K. publication, The Guardian, has a pretty nifty and thrifty feature on their site in their life & style section. With the do-it-yourself craze mixed in with economic hardship, they have been doing segments on how to create your own designer-inspired pieces with a little cutting and sewing for minimal price. The series started back in the beginning of 2009 with features like a Martin Margiela waistcoat, a Jade Jagger bracelet, and a Paul Smith shirt. There is pictorial directions as well as accompanying videos with some of the mini-projects. My personal fav D.I.Y.’s are the Margiela waistcoat, the Vivienne Westwood dress, the Giles Deacon ruff, and the Agent Provocateur bra and panty set. Check them out after the jump… Now get to work!
