Drake

I really can’t complain, everything is kosher…  Drake drops a new video for his “where am I, oh yeah… that’s right” joint, otherwise known as “Over”.  The video is mainly green screened, and sees Drake appear to wake up in a hotel room, wondering about the events that have taken place during his blur called life.  While some may say the video is over simplistic, or not what they expected/wanted, it gave me a new appreciation for the song.  Drake’s expressions in the video are more of the questioning variety, adding relatability to the song.  He is pretty much saying that even life as Drake can seem out of control and confusing at times.  In the end, he realizes that what’s he is doing is living his dream and completing the role he signed up for…  That’s my interpretation at least.  My only question is, will we ever see songs in which Drake steps outside of himself and comments on the world at large?  The majority of Drake that I’ve heard centers on his life, and his experiences since becoming an overnight phenom.  That’s great, but I believe that to be as long-lasting and have a larger impact, he needs to write from another perspective.  But, I digress.  Check out the video below.
