It had eluded us until this week, but New York City producer Hot Sugar released his MiDi Murder tape a few weeks back through Scion A/V, the same heads responsible for Danny Brown’s hit “Grown Up”. Using a bevy of sounds collected by Hot Sugar from daily city life, the EP features bars from rappers such as KOOL A.D. and Heems of Das Racist, Big Baby Gandhi (the other half of Hott 97, one of Hot Sugar’s projects), and Nasty Nigel of the Children of the Night collective. Also featured is 100s, the highly-acclaimed California rapper with an image straight out of 1985. Yet perhaps the most talked-about element of MiDi Murder is Hot Sugar’s creative censorship. Because Scion wouldn’t release the songs with curses, many swear words have been replaced with the sound of Hot Sugar’s girlfriend and gorgeous Bay Area rapper Kitty Pryde playing with her lady parts. Head here to grab a free download of the EP as well as watch Hot Sugar collecting sounds for the tape below.
