Life as a shorty shouldn’t be so rough. Hailing from Fresno, CA, the youngster Fashawn is wise beyond his years. His storytelling ability, combined with adept rhymes and a knowledge of Hip Hop music and culture not usually shared by kids his age, Fashawn is one to watch and one of my favorite artists on the rise. We first checked in with Fashawn in September ’08, and what growth a year brings. Fash has been added to the Ghostface Killah tour, and is awaiting the release of his debut album, Boy Meets World. The album’s production was handled by Exile, and it recieved an XL rating in the most recent XXL with Jay-Z on the cover. I had the chance to interview Fashawn earlier this week for the one year check-in, look for that interview soon. Here he makes the RH page with the video for “Life As A Shorty” detailing his childhood in Fresno. This is a great vid, and makes me think of ice cream trucks for some reason.
