“The name is Fonz-E Mak, what I’m not is hella whack.”
One thing I know about Chicago’s 2008ighties crew is that these kids are persistent. I met members Calez, Julian Malone, and Fonz-E Mak at the “Natural High” video shoot a couple months ago. They showed up with Mic Terror, talked to me for a little bit, and have been sending me music on a regular basis ever since. S**t, I think my slow response is what kind of inspired Calez’ video for “Middle Finger”. Well, they have full attention now and the latest to hit the RH pages is Fonz-E Mak, who gives us “The Storm After The Calm”.
The song’s title is a good one, describing Fonz’ aspirations, and the hard work, hectic-ness, and everything else that will be needed for him to reach them. Welcome to RubyHornet, Fonz.. Trust me, it’s only going to get tougher from here. Mak pays a little homage to Kanye West, flipping Kanye’s chorus from “Barry Bonds”. I’m not mad. Download the song below.
