I discovered Gift of Gab and Blackalicious during a high school trip to London. The in-flight reading had a music section, and they featured Blackalicious. The name and the vibe I got from the article peaked my interest, and when I got home I sought out the group. Napster had just hit the scene, and “Alphabet Aerobics” quickly hit my music library. Their LP Blazing Arrow, is a highlight of my college years, and I’ve stay up on Gift of Gab since. I’ll have some new music to bump in 2012 when Gab drops his forthcoming LP, Next Logical Progression (3/27). The album’s first single is “Protocol” and dropped earlier on 2dopeboyz.
