Here’s a quick recap…Charles Hamilton listed J Dilla as the executive producer of his Interscope debut (see it here). This caused a giant eyebrow rasie as to how J Dilla executive produced the kid’s album, as well as what relationship his relationship with the Yancey family. Hamilton said their relationship is his business, and his efforts only serve to help the name and family of Dilla. Kevin Fairbanks spoke to Hamilton as well as Dilla’s close associate DJ House Shoes, and his mother, Ma Dukes. To put it gently, they disagreed…
“As if the crazy antics of Charles wasn’t enough I got to chat it up with DJ House Shoes & Ma Dukes about the state of affairs. “[Ambulance sirens heard in the background] Damn I think they might have gotten him dog (laughs). Another thing man, cats gotta be careful because it’s easy to find people, it’s a small circle. He gotta learn to watch his mouth.”
