Listen to this once, you probably won’t like it. Listen to it again, and then again, and it will certainly grow on you. That’s the been the case for me. I’m on the third listen and it gets better each spin. Jay Electronica never disappoints lyrically, or schematically, and “Call of Duty” featuring Mobb Deep is no exception. The lo-fi instrumental is gritty and dirty, further emphasizing the themes of the record, and harshness of war (spiritual, literal, etc.). Diamonds in the sky. Grab it below.
