House of Pain

It’s about 4:30 in the AM… Tonight I DJ’ed at the House of Pain and Gza show.  I was supposed to DJ at Lumen, but a scheduling issue prevented me from doing so.  I ended up staying at the Congress theatre, and caught House of Pain’s set (which also included La Coka Nostra joints).  After their set, we did an interview with Everlast and Danny Boy, which made any amount of money I didn’t make at Lumen seem like small potatoes.  The interview went really well, and after that I headed to Vision where I DJ’ed for a bit with Matt Boy White.

House of Pain had a really polished set, fueled by DJ Eclipse.  They played for more than an hour, and ran through their catalog spanning 3 LP’s. They also brought Slaine onstage for La Coka Nostra material.  Of course, they had to end their set with “Jump Around”, which turned out to be as excellent as it was expected.  No wonder why it still gets people going nearly 20 years after inception… The RH Warlock, Tony Shane, caught the song on our trusty Flip Cam and crisp footage is below.  Watch it… Love it…

Check back for the interview with Everlast and Danny Boy in which we talk about the fellas getting kicked off their first ever tour by the Beastie Boys, eating the fish in Chicago, revisiting their HOP material and more.
