Halloween marked the unofficial commencement of 4th Quarter releases, and as we enter the holiday season heavyweights across the city have brought the A-game to the dinner table. This week we have announcements and new music from Sir Michael Rocks, Kidz In The Hall, GLC, Kanye West, Million $ Mano, Common, Scheme, Thelonious, BrandUn deShay, 2008ighties, LEP Bogus Boys, Mikkey Halsted, Blended Babies + More.

Aside from wrecking arena’s on the daily, (except when jet-setting to festivals in Brazil) Kanye West and his crew full of sons of our city, have been quiet in the blogosphere compared to the Good Friday-ness we experienced in November of last year. This week we got footage of Ye and company performing in Brazil, as well as an illy feature in VMAN magazine for the homie Million $ Mano. Mano & Superfun party will also be invading Boston Monday for a WTT After-party at the Cure Lounge. Best believe RH will be there. The Throne is coming to a city near you and if you aren’t on Voyr yet and consider yourself a fan. SMH.

Kidz in The Hall are prepping their November 22nd release of Occasion EP and have dropped an official video for “Occasion” shot by Elephilms x Young Wonder. This was definitely a fun night… and it sounds like the album will be too. Cop that now so you’ll be ready to bump it during the holidays next week.

GLC has been relatively quite in the past few weeks, but that’s only because of GL’s announcement of his new mixtape Eternal Sunshine of The Pimpin’ Mind. Only the ISM can pull this off, and he will November 30th. Look out for much more from GL in the near future, especially as we hit the near year.

Sir Michael Rocks linked with new JETS fam Curren$y for “Luxury Sport”, as the crew readies their Jets World Order LP which we will hopefully still see on November 28th.

Common is at a great point right now, having a successful show on AMC as well as readying a LP created from the ground up with best-friend No I.D. Swag. This week he dropped the visuals for his monstrous, nostalgic single “Sweet”. The Dreamer, The Believer is out December 20th. Check the artwork + tracklist here.

Thelonious linked with BrandUn deShay in the studio recently and the two had a good time talking J.Cole’s ancestry as well as tackling a beat together + more to come as well. Thelonious recently linked with Action Bronson during our Closed Session and will definitely has a bunch of new music in the works, while Deshay grinding off his September release of All Day Deshay, he recently linked with Fader to remix Casey Veggies’ banger “Riding Round Town”.

Calez #2008ighties

The 2008ighities crew, aka Chicago’s next up made themselves extremely visible this week as we got a Tony Shane directed video for Calez’s “Rapping Habits”, a new joint from Fonz E-Mak in “Alex is Awesome” as well as newness from Julian Malone – “Zonin”. After you preview these joints sit down and check member U.G.’s new mixtape Rockets & Roses. At this point it’s 2008ighites or eat a cinder-block.

Scheme and Slot-A dropped the single “One Helluva Night” off their upcoming collab project The Life That I Chose, due December 6th. The crew also recently shot visuals for the 1st single we premiered in our First Listen column, “Hello (Whats Up?)” check for that video soon as well as the EP, early next month.

LEP Bogus Boys dropped visuals for their anthem, “Right Back 4 The Summa” Feat. the illest feature MC out 2Chainz. This track will appear on the hard copy of Now or Neva which should be available soon., if you haven’t heard that yet *shrugs*.

Mikkey Halsted dropped new music this week, which actually gives me hope we’ll see the Bulls play this season. As we know Halsted is an experienced and dedicated story-teller, and this new song is Halsted again doing what he does best.  “Another Day In The Ghetto” sees production from Tha Bizness is warm and full, harkening back to Golden Era drums and jazz. Do it.

The Blended Babies brought us the dopest instrumental LP I’ve heard a minute this month, and this week the are back with production on Asher Roth’s “Common Knowledge”. Cop their LP Shooter McGavin now if you haven’t yet. Support your city.

After a solid week for our local scene, I am definitely ready to hear this Kidz In The Hall EP next week, as well as do my best Thanksgiving impersonation out here in Boston, as well as continue to wish for my early X-Mas, Hanukkah, Kwanza gift, tickets to The Throne in Boston on Monday!
