Lupe Fiasco

“I think all the silence is worse than all the violence.”

Lupe Fiasco has released the second single from his forthcoming third studio LP, L.A.S.E.R.S. The song is titled “Words I Never Said”, and carries rock infused production from Alex Da Kid (if you were born after The Sega-Era look up Alex Kid) and also features Skylar Grey.  Lupe is right at home on the new song, as this style of production has long been in Lupe’s pocket.  The title and the chorus lay out the theme of this track, which features Lupe letting go of a lot of thoughts and statements that he previously left unspoken.  Believing that silence is deadly, Lupe speaks on American politics, education, the celebrity-driven news, Israel and The Gaza Strip, as well as racism.  These themes, as well as the overarching theme against censorship have been championed by the Chicago native and from our in-depth interview with Lupe, we should expect more like this when L.A.S.E.R.S hits stores in March.
