This is actually a pretty cool idea, could use some fine tuning though. They sit down with celebrities and ask them to confirm or deny the facts listed on their Wikipedia page. Here we have Lupe Fiasco talking about himself and his page. Want to know something extra cool? Lupe is asked to confirm how he got the name Lupe Fiasco. His wikipedia page says:
“Growing up, Fiasco was given the nickname “Lu”, the last part of his first name, by his mother. “Lupe” is an extension of this nickname, which he borrowed from a friend from high school. “Fiasco,” he says, “came from the Firm album. They had the song, ‘Firm Fiasco’. I just liked the way it looked on paper.”[10]”
Now, that little number is the citation, and who does Wikipedia cite for this information? Well, a familiar name to all RH readers:
“a b Fruchter, Alexander (2006-05-11). “Hip To Be Square“. Soundslam.com. http://www.soundslam.com/articles/interviews/interviews.php?interviews=in060511lupefi. Retrieved 2007-09-02.“
Yup, that’s me, Alexander Fruchter, also known as DJ RTC. I guess Lupe also confirmed my awesomeness at interviewing in the process of his own life story… I interviewed Lupe in ’06 (I’m no new jack, jack)!, right before Food & Liquor came out. You can read my old interview with Lupe here. You can read my new interview with Lupe here. And you can see him check his wikipedia page below. Thanks to Tibs for passing on the link.
