Lykke Li is dope. And the past few weeks I’ve done so many google image searches on her that I’m also confident that she can pull off a variety of looks, and dare I say, is very beautiful. She has also been on a good run lately since dropping “Get Some”, the first single from her new LP. The record is in your face and controversial, with lyrics demonstrating sexual empowerment, and coming from the viewpoint of a lady of the evening who is on her j.o.b. The single has seen various remixes, most recently by some musical heavy hitters in Beck, and now Mike D. of the Beastie Boys. Mike D has been active on the remix tip lately himself, also crafting a remix for Matt & Kim.
On this remix of “Get Some”, Mike adds some classic Beastie drums, while hiding them underlayers of electronic funk. The results are pretty dope and you can listen below.
