Before Mayer Hawthorne was Mayer Hawthorne, he was best known as DJ Haircut and part of Ann Arbor’s Athletic Mic League. AML’s 2004 release, Jungle Gym Jungle, is an underground classic in my opinion, and Haircut is a dope DJ. I had the chance to see him spin live that summer at a house party in Ann Arbor and it was definitely good times. He released a live mix just now of his August 8th date at the Do Over.
