Local NPR affiliate, WBEZ, published a story detailing Chicago’s Inner-city Muslim Action Network’s (IMAN) initiative to explore corner stores, and Chicago’s on going food dessert problem. The group used Mikkey Halsted’s video for “Liquor Store” as a research tool, along with interviewing liquor store owners, many of whom are Muslims working in predominantly African-American neighborhoods.
