It’s time to get your latest SaveMoney fix as Brian Fresco unleashes the Mafioso ‘tape, which we had been teased with since the rising emcee released the posse cut “Steamer” back in December. Mafioso was worth the wait though, 13 tracks showcasing Fresco’s strengths plus guest-appearances by Chance The Rapper, Kami de Chukwu, Vic Mensa, Tokyo Shawn, Joey Purp, Tree, Nico Segal and Most Dope’s Njozma. Believe me, you might find some of his lyrics basic at first, but with every listen there are new things you’ll hear and then you’ll understand the complexity behind the music. I haven’t be able to fully indulge in the project, nonetheless, the standout tracks so far have been: “She’s The Type”, “Steamer”, “I Mean It” & “D.B.M.”. Shouts to Fresco’s mom for coming through in the clutch and dropping some knowledge in the intro too.
