Do you Vevo? Vevo is the month-or-so old video distribution website created by Google, Universal Music Group, and Sony Music Entertainment. Think of it as a legal OnSmash, meaning all of the music videos on the site are there legitimately, and Vevo is basically another tool record labels and other music industry players are using to fight piracy of their content. In its short time of existence Vevo has been able to make a strong impact, registering a whooping 35.4 million unique visitors in the month of December, according to Tech Crunch. Vevo’s traffic and success can be largely attributed to its relationship with Youtube, where it hosts a channel as well as channels for various UMG and Sony artists (some pretty big ones). It is the most viewed channel on Youtube, and a supremely large percentage (92% to be exact) of Vevo’s viewership comes via the peer-to-peer video site. MySpace Music held the crown previously, but like much things Myspace, it is no longer number one. Hit the jump to see the rest of the top 10 Music Service sites for the month of December.
