Barack Obama

Another baseball season kicked off yesterday, and believe it or not, it marked the 100th season that started with a the presidential ceremonial first pitch.  President Barack Obama did the honors at yesterday’s Phillies vs. Nationals game.  He took the filed wearing a Nationals’ jacket.  When he reached the mound, President Obama pulled out a White Sox hat and donned it for the pitch, which was outside… As far as our baseball teams go, The White Sox beat the Cleveland Indians 6-0 with Paul Konerko and Alex Rios homering, while Mark Buehrle turned in a stellar performance as well as perhaps the top play of 2010.  Meanwhile, the Cubs got blown out 16-5 down in Hotlanta proving that all is right with the universe…  You can see video of the first pitch and Buehrle’s great play.

*MLB has swiped the net clean of that Buehrle play.  You can see that here.
