“God keeps blessing me, I feel like I got allergies…”
That’s the line, the one that got me… It was recorded in the early evening hours of Friday November 19th at SoundScape Studios during our Closed Session with CyHi Da Prynce. When I heard it I got chills. No, it’s not the most profound lyric, but it is a clever one-liner that sums up so much of CyHi Da Prynce’s career these last 6 months, and also something I feel as well. That was a recurring theme during the weekend and our time with CyHi, arguably one of the most buzzing artists in Hip Hop these days (and I believe one of the most talented). From the studio sessions, the radio visit to WGCI, the in-store at LDRS, our party at Beauty Bar, and everything in between, CyHi remained humble, cool and excited to work. We got to know him and his team pretty well over the four days they were in town, and by the time I dropped him off at the airport on Sunday, it was like dropping off an old friend. This was also our last Closed Session of 2010, (I can’t believe the year has flown by) and a perfect way to wrap up Vol. 2 of our EP series.
