Beastie Boys: Hot Sauce Committee Part 2 Tracklist

The Beastie Boys are back in time for Fall Fashion, or at least that's according to a letter posted on their website.
"we know our website has been kinda sucky for a while now…well..actually you wouldn’t, or rather we wouldn’t know.. i mean… none of us, you or we, i mean us, have even really looked at it for a while. it’s been sort of just hung out there to dry. it was kinda depressing. the band “news” was old, tour dates were from i don’t even remember, gossip was boring to non-existant. BUT WE ARE BACK ! with a new site, new attitude, and a fresh crisp look for the fall season. a lot of clean lines and bold patterns. muted prints and wedge boots are out this season, break out the corduroy grunge is back. listen… we got all types of new and improved shit going down, geared to flip your wig and split your dome piece."
News on tours and s**t are sure to follow, but along with the relaunch of their site, the Beastie Boys also revealed the tracklisting for The Hot Sauce Committee Part 2, which will be released in the spring of 2011 via Capitol Records. In some strange twist of fate, or something like that, The Hot Sauce Committee Part 2 will contain the 16 tracks originally slated for the Hot Sauce Committee Part 1, which has been scrapped and will contain all new tracks. What?
MCA said, “I know it's weird and confusing, but at least we can say unequivocally that Hot Sauce Committee Part 2 is coming out on time, which is more than I can say about Part 1, and really is all that matters in the end.” says Adam “MCA” Yauch. “We just kept working and working on various sequences for part 2, and after a year and half of spending days on end in the sequencing room trying out every possible combination, it finally became clear that this was the only way to make it work. Strange but true, the final sequence for Hot Sauce Committee Part 2 works best with all its songs replaced by the 16 tracks we originally had lined up in pretty much the same order we had them in for Hot Sauce Committee Part 1. So we've come full circle."

Kanye West: "Power" and "Runaway" Live From Brooklyn Bowl

Just when I wasn't feeling too bad about missing CMJ this year... Kanye West capped off Pitchfork's Offline showcase (put together with Fool's Gold) by surprising the Brooklyn Bowl crowd with a 20 minute set during CyHi Da Prynce's performance. As Rolling Stone says, "Kanye West appeared onstage at New York’s Brooklyn Bowl at roughly 2:30 Sunday morning, wearing a hubcap-sized gold eagle's head pendant, a gargantuan two-finger pyramid ring and what appeared to be a hooded black terrycloth bathrobe. He looked like a Pharoah who had spent the day lounging poolside, and had just decided to drop in for this quick surprise show."
I think that's pretty fresh, and also want to let everyone in camp Kanye know that The Darkroom would be perfect for one of these surprise performances, or can I suggest Beauty Bar during a Digital Freshness? The next one is November 20th... See the clip below.
Producer and Editor of "Exit Through The Gift Shop" Talk with Movie City News

We've been raving about Bansky's film, "Exit Through The Gift Shop", since we got to check it out at a screening earlier this spring. The film tells a great story about the street art scene, the elusive Bansky, and of course Mr. Brainwash, who rose from obscurity of documenting the street art scene, to a star in his own right. It is a film that raises a lot of questions, and Movie City News caught up with the film's producer Jaimie D'Cruz as well as editor Chris King to ask some questions and go in-depth about the movie. Check out the interview below.
Lungz: "Grimey Affair" (prod. by QB and Nascent)

Here is another new track from Chicago's very own Lungz. "Grimey Affair" is produced by QB & Nascent, who have been racking up the placements lately, including some for Lloyd Banks and Joe Budden. Lungz' new mixtape, Monster: Buried Alive, is set to drop on October 31st. Download the new track below.
MTV Crowns Eminem As Hottest Emcee

MTV rolled out their 2010 Hottest Emcee list over the weekend, capping it off by naming Eminem the hottest emcee of 2010. Em won the grand prize because of his latest LP, Recovery, his appearance on "Forever" and "Drop The World", as well as the Home and Home tour with Jay-Z.
"Something about Em this time around, you don't feel like he's following some type of formula," MTV Jams' Tuma Basa said. "He didn't come out with that corny Slim Shady record. This time, he came like, 'I came to play.' And the records have this motivational anthemic type [of feel] we haven't seen in him. He's stepping into a new space."
Jay-Z was number 2, Kanye West was number 3, while Drake and Rick Ross rounded out the top 5. Nicki Minaj and Lil' Wayne landed at 6 and 7 respectively, as Waka Flocka grabbed number 8, B.o.B. rode his airplane to number 9, and Ludacris finished the list at number 10. The list has some notable snubs and misses. I can't believe Lupe Fiasco missed the list again, especially considering he pretty much made it his goal to be on the list this year. He dominated blogs and websites, had a great mixtape, and large scale protest/petition. Also missing was Bun B, who had a 5 mic album, and huge buzz. I also think Wiz Khalifa earned a spot, but that's just me. I mean, Ludacris? No disrespect, but Ludacris? And Waka Flocka...

Shad on Sound Sessions with DJ Hyphen

People are raving about Shad, including our own Kevin Fairbanks who has listed the up and coming Canadian emcee as one of his favorite artists as well as interviews (read his interview with Shad here). KUBE's DJ Hyphen is also a big supporter and he recently linked up with Shad at the start of his "Born To Run" Tour with K-oS. Check out the video interview below.
Lykke Li: "Get Some" x "Paris Blue"

"I'm your prostitute, you're gon' get some."
Lykke Li kicked Monday off by blasting out her new single, "Get Some" complete with the b-side "Paris Blue". The track is contains a seductive and driving tribal beat in which Lykke Li places herself in the shoes of a prostitute telling future clients some of the do's and don't's of her services. Don't number 1: pulling down your pants prematurely. Don't number 2: making demands. Don't number 3: Don't p**sy out at the last minute, this is her time to shine.
What a way to start the new work week. Grab that and "Paris Blue" after the jump.
Dave Jeff: "Love" featuring DJBWS (song and trailer)

They brought Dave out of retirement to get his Puffy on, lol... "Love" is the first single from the second edition of the PHLI Music mixtape series, which is being handled by DJ Broadway Streets. DJBWS and Dave Jeff are both in love, and that's the topic of discussion. They also shot a video for this track and have a trailer featuring the hilarious Leon Rogers. See the trailer and get the song below.
