There have been various rumblings regarding Kanye West's video for "Power".  Today TheImmaterial Studio released a video documenting the work that went into making the video, showing how they placed Kanye West into "an abstract environment" co-inhabited by various creatures and figures that all go around Kanye in slow motion.  The video is very impressive, and demonstrate the artistic vision of Kanye West in relation to "Power".  See the video below.

Penfield: 35 And Counting

Penfield

It's safe to say that RubyHornet has been down with Penfield for a minute now. Between their stylish, functional outerwear, and constantly evolving menswear line, the brand is quickly becoming a cult favorite over here. We thought it was time to reach out to our friends at Penfield and get their story straight from the source. We asked them to give us a rundown of the brand and their products, then picked their brains on a few select topics regarding the menswear world. This year, Penfield celebrates their 35th year, and we got a taste of what's gotten them this far, and what will continue to keep Penfield at the center of attention moving forward. Rest assured we'll have a preview of Fall/Winter 2010 coming to you soon. Until then, hit the jump for the interview.

Beat Connection: "In The Water"

Beat Connection

Most music commentary recently has relied heavily on the low German base of the English language.  Hyphenating endless strings of words trying to find the right combination of influences to describe a band.  In the information age where access to the musical history of the universe is a thought away, the chimeras become endless.  It becomes easier to create a category first and find bands that fill it than the other way around. Ice Cube: "Drink The Kool Aid" Video

Ice Cube

Ice Cube adds some visuals to "Drink The Kool Aid" off his forthcoming I Am The West LP.  For somebody who has become a mainstay of family comedy films, Ice Cube goes pretty hard.  I'd like to see "Are We There Yet" license that chorus... know who you f**king with indeed.
