Phoenix Jones: "Posterized (Lebron James)" Video

Leborn James
Attention all artists, find a way to reference Kordell Stewart and George Orwell in the same sentence and you can earn a spot on RubyHornet.  Phoenix Jones pays tribute to Lebron James who is singlehandedly avenging the travesties of Craig Ehlo and those 2 god awful sequels to "Major League" via his thrashing of the Chicago Bulls.  See the video below.

RH At The Movies: "A Million In The Morning"

A Million In The Morning

Last week in NYC, Decon held a press screening for their latest feature length film, "A Million In The Morning" staring Gavin McInness (co-founder of Vice Magazine) and directed by Jason Goldwatch. The premise of the documentary was simple- follow eight contestants, out to break the Guinness World Record for longest consecutive amount of movies watched in one sitting and take home the $10,000 Netflix cash prize. There were 10 minute breaks allowed in between each film, but while the movie was on, you weren't allowed to look away or blink for long. Another nice touch was all of this went down in a clear plexiglass room in the middle of Times Square, if there's one place in New York that doesn't sleep, it's here.Read more

Lacoste Spring 2010 Bateau Canvas Boat Shoes

Lacoste Spring 2010 Bateau Canvas Boat Shoes

We've seen a lot of dope boat shoes already this spring, but here's the latest from Lacoste that are too clean not to post. The Bateau takes the shape of a boat shoe with fine canvas uppers and colors
inspired by "Le Tricolore", the French flag. There is also an all-leather, all-white color way available for that classic summer look. These shoes look incredible and certainly share the timeless appeal that Lacoste has become known for around the globe. All three are available now at select Lacoste accounts around the world so make sure to pick some up if you haven't snagged your summer boat shoes yet.

Drinks On RTC Tonight At Vision

DJ RTC

Just a reminder to everyone in the Chicago area, that I will be djing tonight at Vision for a special open bar 10-11:30PM.  The idea of the night is to go into a downtown club, bring our music and flavor, while our friends can have some drinks without reaching into their pockets.  This is the second edition, and will be a lot of fun.  It's a cool chance to do something different, and get a good start to a Friday night. Free entry and drinks with mention of me and the site.

Phosphorescent: "It's Hard To Be Humble (When You're From Alabama)"

Phosphorescent

"Hear me Alabama, I was never meant to carry no shame."

I was drawn to Phosphorescent's music from the titles of his songs i.e.: "It's Hard To Be Humble (When You're Alabama)" and "Reasons To Quit (There Are No Reasons When You're High)" off the folk-rocker's equally cleverly titled LP, Here's To Taking It Easy.  Sonically, "Alabama" reminds me a little bit of Jimmy Buffet, while lyrically artists such as Paul Simon come to mind, those that have a way of just talking to you through the record.  Check it out below via RCRDLBL.
