Eminem Plans for June "Recovery"
Since last year's release of Relapse, and the Relapse special edition, fans have been looking forward to Eminem's Relapse 2 slated for this summer. Marshall Mathers put that dog down when he announced via his Twitter page. Some may have thought that the whole idea of releasing a new album was scrapped, but fear not. Eminem is releasing a newly titled LP, Recovery this June. Rapradar quoted Em as saying,
"I had originally planned for Relapse 2 to come out last year,” says Eminem. “But as I kept recording and working with new producers, the idea of a sequel to Relapse started to make less and less sense to me, and I wanted to make a completely new album. The music on Recovery came out very different from Relapse, and I think it deserves its own title.”
I hope by "different" he means without that weird accent...
Detail: "Tattoo Foreva" featuring T-Wayne & Travis McCoy

I believe the first guy in the pic is Detail, but I am not sure. He kind of looks like T-Pain and Lil' Wayne combined. So I guess that would make him look like T-Wayne? I don't know. What I do know is that Detail is a producer behind songs from Ray J and Akon, and "Tattoo Foreva" is his first song as an artist (thanks Hallway). The song features Travis McCoy from Gym Class Heroes as well, and is on Detail's forthcoming debut album. Grab it below.

Mr. J Medeiros: "Brutus"
I first discovered Mr. J years back in like '02 during a trip to LA when I hit a Procussions show. The three piece crew released a pretty dope debut LP, signed to Rawkus, and then kind of broke up. J released a solid debut LP entitled Of Gods and Girls and is now readying a re-release of Friends Enemies Apples Apples with Procussions crew member Stro The 89th Key. The album drops in full May 11th. Get the leak below.

Fresh Paint NYC

Fresh Paint, NYC is a new effort compiled by Billy Schon documenting a decade's worth of graffiti by some of New York City's most prolific tagging crews. The book is 400 pages of photos taken of the busses, walls, and trains tagged by the crews which include "X-Men, KD, TNB, 156, RIS, AOK, TC-5, FAME CITY, COD, XTC, TFP, MCI, IF, DYM, 718, TD4, SMART, TATS CRU, FLY-ID, GFR, AKB, and many more". Schon's book immortalizes the pieces that have since been removed, covered, or destroyed in New York's efforts to eliminate graffiti from the city, making this book an integral addition to graffiti history. Unfazed by the efforts of the city, the tagging crews have created faster, smarter methods to their work to stay ahead of the curve. The book is available for pre-order now HERE and will be released in May, 2010. Check out Scon's blog to find out more about the book and stay current on his latest posts, most of which revolve around various facets of street art. More looks at Fresh Paint, NYC after the jump.
