BLVCK SCALE has been making some serious moves since coming on the scene a few short years back. Complete with a flagship store open in San Francisco, the brand is quickly becoming a force with their impressive streetwear and more subtle garments. In 2009, they introduced their black selvedge denim and now comes the 15oz version. No word on a release nor how they're cut but these are definitely a pair to keep your eye on.

DJ Premier on Solar: The Man Who Calls Himself A Super Producer
I saw this article on DJ Premier's Blog. The article sheds more light on Super Producer Solar, the man who has been Guru's exclusive creative partner since the demise of GangStarr, and the man who is at the forefront of the confusion surrounding Guru's health and current condition. There's no byline on the piece, so I'm not totally sure if Premier wrote it himself, or it was authored by someone else who works on this site... I did spot it via Premier's twitter, so it is official... You can see it after the jump, and before we get into it, I remember when the first time I interviewed Guru in 2005, just before the release of his first solo album after the Gangstarr break up. At that time the message wasn't as anti-Gangstarr and anti-the past as it has become since. To be honest, my first impressions of Solar were not that negative. I had no idea of the depths of this falling out at that time, nor what would happen in the years since... I'm going to go back and find that original '05 interview for a Treasurechest's Vault.
