Supreme: Spring/Summer 09

Supreme

New York based, Supreme, has just released their Spring/Summer collection for 2009. Supreme is known for their classic pieces like Oxford shirts and 5 panel hats. This season they've given each piece a more subtle tone, and the collection comes together quite nicely. One of my favorite pieces of their collection is the shorts. From shorts that look like dickies to checkered, Supreme did a pretty dope job this time around. The collection will be available this weekend online and in the New York store, but Japan will have to wait until next week.

Black Moth Super Rainbow: "Born On A Day The Sun Didn't Rise"

Eating Us

I don't know what to classify Black Moth Super Rainbow as, is it psychedelic? Yes, but that description seems so lacking.  Is it electronic? Yes, but again, the word doesn't seem to encapsulate what's going on here; at best I can call it brilliant.  Following up 2007's Dandelion Gum the Pittsburgh, PA band has put out one of my favorite albums thus far this year in Eating Us.  Its heavy use of vocoder and brilliant symphonic keyboards make it wonderfully expansive and equally strange.  The entire album and especially the first song, "Born on a Day the Sun Didn't Rise" are simply entrancing, the music just swirls, trippy, great stuff.
