RH homie Dave Jeff has finally put the finishing touches on the new PHLI store, today and the rest of this weekend is the re-grand opening. (Chicago, IL) –Chicago’s first lifestyle brand PHLI (a backwards anagram for ‘I Love Hyde Park’, pronounced ‘fly’) is proud to announce their grand re-opening at their new location (1613 E. 55th Street) in Chicago’s historic Hyde Park during PHLI Weekend, Friday, June 11 – Sunday, June 13, 2010. The three-day weekend features an array of activities that will re-brand PHLI as one of the most innovative sneaker and apparel brands to grace the city of Chicago.

Originally opened in 2003 as Chicago’s first ‘high-end’ sneaker boutique, the store was forced to changed its location on 53rd street due to the University of Chicago buying Harper’s Court. PHLI owner Dave Jeff, who was born and raised in Hyde Park, was determined to stay in the area.   He says, “Reopening the store has been easy with GOD driving. The new store is bigger, better   & PHLIERRRRR”. Dave Jeff defines PHLI as a lifestyle brand. Beyond providing its consumers with exclusive apparel and sneakers, the company is expanding into the realm o f niche marketing, events and entertainment and actively creating an urban lifestyle community. “Why walk when you can PHLI.” Dave has brought on new business partner, Scott Witherspoon aka “Spoon”, to expand the business ventures of PHLI Incorporated. Spoon is a licensed real estate professional and social service executive who will promote corporate responsibility by aligning PHLI’s activities with the social and economic expectations of its stakeholders.
 
Innovative sneaker and apparel brand sponsors K-Swiss and premium cognac Hennessey Black will also be apart of the grand opening in partnership with PHLI Grand Opening as well as a live broadcast by Power 92.3 Radio Personalities “The Hot Boyz” . Celebrity appearances during the event include multi- platinum music producer DJ Clark Kent and other invited guests include Jerry Azumah, Actress Tiffany Torrence Davis, Kelly Jay (Flavor of Love), George Daniels,   Alderman Toni Pretwinckle, The Hot Boyz, Leon Rogers, J-Niice & more. On Friday June 11th, 2010 Ribbon cutting starts at 6:15pm, Red Carpet begins promptly at 6:30pm, Media check-in starts at 5:30pm. Events during the weekend celebration are as follows:
 
THE GRAND OPENING: Friday June 11, 2010:
Sponsored by Hennessy Black, the Grand Opening starts at 6 p.m. with a Ribbon Cutting and Red Carpet Reception. There will be a special guest keynote speaker who is very familiar with the PHLI Brand as well as exclusive, collaborative tees created by PHLI will also debut the day of the opening. Along with Hors d’oeuvres and Hennessy Black specialty drinks, radio station Power 92.3 FM (WPWK) will host a live broadcast, while enjoying the music selections of acclaimed Hennessy Black DJ Timbuktu & PHLI’s own DJ Broadway Streetz.

K-SWISS VINTAGE CLASSIC LOUNGE: Saturday, June 12, 2010
Innovative sneaker and apparel brand K-SWISS, who has been a long time supporter of PHLI will be showcasing their vintage classic line. With the theme of “Vintage Classic, “ the Legendary House music producer and DJ Terry Hunter will provide old school house music while providing patrons with what PHLI considers classic Chicago style, house music and food. Hennessey Black & K Swiss will also sponsor a live photo shoot for Hennessy Black Cultural Architects, while providing specialty Hennessy Black cocktails and K-Swiss gear for the photo-shoot. Architects will be interviewed about the PHLI brand as well as what defines “Vintage Classic.”
 
PHLI CUTS: Sunday, June 13, 2010
A long time philanthropist, Dave Jeff has always made an effort to make sure the Hyde Park community benefits from his efforts as well provide resources to the community within his own capacity and beyond. On the final day of PHLI weekend, Hyde Park residents & patrons are encouraged to visit the store to learn about PHLI’s new brand & creative efforts as a result of their re-emergence. Adults who make a purchase over the 3 day period of PHLI weekend are invited to bring their children ages 3 to 12 years old for a free haircut provided by Rico the Barber, Walt & Free upon receipt of purchase. It is limited to one free haircut per purchase. All events during PHLI weekend are free and open to the public.
