I remember when I bought Dilated’s 2001 LP, Neighborhood Watch. The booklet had a “Crown of Thorns coming soon” type of message advertising the forthcoming solo works from Dilated’s trio of Rakaa, Evidence, and Babu. Contractual restraint kept the crew from going solo, but since their final Capitol release the Dilated Peoples becoming free agents, only DJ Babu and Evidence have released solo projects (multiple solo projects respectively). However, Rakaa’s solo endeavor has been a little slower to come about, but the long awaited project has finally received a July 20th release date via Decon Records. The album has production from Evidence, Alchemist, DJ Babu, with features from Fashawn, Chali 2na and others.
