M.I.A. and Rye Rye will hit the Windy City for a pair of shows next week at the Vic Theatre. M.I.A. is touring in support of her latest release, MAYA, which hit stores this summer. Rye Rye, who M.I.A. first discovered at the tender age of 16 thanks to her homie Blaqstarr, is joining M.I.A. and will be showcasing pieces of her forthcoming debut album Go! Pop! Bang!. The album will be released early next year via Interscope and M.I.A.’s imprint N.E.E.T. Records. The project contains production from Blaqstarr, M.I.A., Diplo, plus Count and Sinden. It’s been getting some good early reviews, with Paper Magazine predicting that it “… will take over car stereos one impossibly ear-catching kinetic party jam at a time.”
