This fall, Fiona Apple and Blake Mills will set off on a 12-date North American tour. Tickets will go on sale this Friday, August 2, and I will most definitely be getting one. At just age 19, Apple made her debut with “Tidal,” a triple-platinum smash album that includes the well-known Grammy-winning single, “Criminal.” Last year, the success of Apple’s fourth full-length album, “The Idler Wheel…,” once again pushed her to the top of the charts and garnered much critical acclaim. Pitchfork named the album one of the “Top 5 Records of 2012,” while Spin named the first single off the album, “Every Single Night,” a “revelation.”

Blake Mills has been all over the musical map keeping busy as an artist, producer, and collaborator. After he produced and released his first solo album, “Break Mirrors,” he opened for Apple on The Idler Wheel… tour. Currently at work on his second record, due in early 2014, Mills has worked with a wide-range of musicians from Simon Dawes and Julian Casablancas to Band of Horses, and produced projects by Conor Oberst, Billy Gibbons, and Sky Ferreira, to name a few.
