Keys N' Krates

Join us August 6th as we bring URB’s Next 100 members Keys N’ Krates to Lumen for their first ever Chicago date.  The Canadian collective consisting of DJ JR. Flo, Matisse, and Tone have been tearing up the northern circuit, and have made major waves stateside after blowing people away at SXSW.  Using turntables and live instruments, KNK creates live remixes that can’t be duplicated and can’t be boring.  Don’t miss the boat, and come to Lumen August 6th and also enjoy sets by Chi-town favorites DJ RTC and DJ Izzo.  Videos, and the press release after the jump.

RubyHornet Reinvents The Remix With Keys N’ Krates

For Immediate Release-

On August 6th, the day before the music world transcends on Chicago for Lollapalooza, RubyHornet.com will preempt the festival with the first ever Chicago performance from URB Next 100’s members Keys N’ Krates.  The Canadian based outfit extenuates the turntablism skills of DMC winner DJ JR Flo by pairing him alongside live drummer (Tone) and keyboardist (Matisse).  The three work in sync to create live remixes of classic party songs, giving the audience an energetic performance that is hard to predict, yet impossible not to enjoy.

The trio will demonstrate their style to Chicago trendsetters and tastemakers at the newly redesigned Lumen nightclub (839 W. Fulton Market Street).  Lumen’s reputation as an edgy and swank Chicago nightspot, elegant bar and set up, as well as extensive lighting provide the perfect atmosphere for Keys N’ Krates’ Chicago debut.

Joining Keys N’ Krates will be rising Chicago favorites DJ Izzo, and DJ RTC, who recently celebrated the iTunes release of Naledge’s Chicago Picasso, which he mixed and arranged.  Further accentuating the party is RubyHornet’s in house photographer Virgil Solis, as well as RubyHornet’s unique approach to parties and live shows.  Key N’ Krates is the latest group to hit the Windy City via RH.  Their performance follows RubyHornet presented performances from rising stars such as Cleveland’s Chip Tha Ripper, Washington D.C.’s Wale, California’s U-N-I, and Atlanta’s Donnis.

The doors open at 10 PM.  Cost is $10.  For table service please contact Justin Brown (Justin@RubyHornet.com)
