Clark Kent

This is my Clark Kent blog.  A real good guy, Clark Kent was.  Stand out journalist, dedicated truth seeker, great friend, modest, and really knew how to keep a secret. I have a pair of glasses that I don’t wear that much, that are Clark Kent-ish.  I bought them when I was a freshmen in college. I always resisted glasses before that, but I couldn’t read the overhead in Dr. Weiskopf’s Psych 101 and decided it was time to see clearly.  At the time, I felt like thick black glasses were the way to go because if I was going to wear glasses, I wasn’t going to play around and try to camoflauge or get too cute, just give me the black frames…I’m wearing glasses dammit!

Anyway, I take them out from time to time, and when I do, calls of Clark Kent always follow.  I actually went to, and DJ’ed, a Halloween party as Clark Kent this year out of little costume design time…You’re probably wondering where this is going, and I don’t know really either.  I lost my Clark Kent glasses Saturday night…Like actually lost them, gone, just like that. I got back to my girl’s car and realized they were no longer on my face, or in my pockets.  It was the perfect ending to a really strange day, one also filled with locking my keys in my car at Kosha Dillz’ listening party, and completely wiping out in a 3 foot puddle…So, after getting home at 4 AM with a water logged phone, and missing glasses, I had a laugh and went to sleep thinking about the Karma of the day, and everything that is going on in my life.  The night before I was at WGCI for the first time, sitting in on V-Dub’s live mix and talking to him about his new DJ crew, The Associates.  The crew also includes Kid Scratch, Nephets, and Pharris.  They offered me a spot, making the only DJ in the crew without a radio spot…Earlier that day, I was at the Auto Show.  Surrounded by so many cars I couldn’t help but think about our country’s senseless over-indulgence.  My sympathy for our auto industry (not auto-workers) truly left me as I looked at oversized cars that nobody could afford and were simply not practical to drive.  It was around 6PM on a Friday, and my Blackberry still wouldn’t go 3 minutes without a new phone call, email, or text…And I guess it’s all this that makes me wish I was Clark Kent, as sometimes I feel like I need to be Superman to get everything done…but whatever…I don’t know what I was thinking, turn this reflective s**t off…

Anyway, big ups to Slumdog Millionaire, a great film that managed to do pretty well for itself at the Oscar’s last night.  I didn’t watch the Oscars, but I did see “Flight of The Conchords”, and this week’s episdode was my favorite of the series.  I also checked out the second installment of “Eastbound and Down”, which is absolutely hilarious.  After that, the Tylenol PM’s clicked in, and it was a wrap for Sunday night.  This week is gonna be the business…I gotta turn in The Chicago Picasso, and have a few gigs as well.  Benny Rocs is celebrating his birthday, not once, but twice this week.  The grand fashion shindig is happening on Saturday at Lava Lounge with some special guests, we’ll also be doing a lower key party on Thursday (details to follow)…

Anyway, that’s pretty much it for me and my blog this week…Here’s some new joints I’ve been listening to.
