Same Rebel, New Cause

“I’m trying to write my own future, literally.”

Here is something new from my forthcoming mixtape, On Deck.  It is one of my favorite tracks on the project, and was given to me by Scheme.  The song is also on the Scheme’s Same Rebel, New Cause Deluxe Edition, which will be available November 9th.  “Just Maybe” features YP, and when teamed with Scheme, they represent two of the best emcees in Chicago’s underground.  I enjoy working with Scheme and YP, because their work ethic and follow through rank amongst the best in the Windy City.  Kamilah Sumner vocally shines on the chorus, demonstrating the reason she is also building a buzz.  The song was produced by QB & Nascent, who are also a part of Chicago’s up and coming scene.

The song focuses on the musical aspirations of all involved, with Scheme and YP both detailing their sacrifices to meet their goals.  The overall hope is that they avoid a Van Gogh like fate, and live to reach their musical success.

Scheme’s Deluxe Edition of Same Rebel, New Cause drops 9th.  He will be celebrating the release on November 17th at The Darkroom with performances by Scheme, Mic Terror, Add-2, YP and others.  Download the song below.
