[Album] LIZ: "Just Like You"

LIZ has been popping up all over our radar since just before the start of the new year. The Los Angeles-based Mad Decent signee may very well be the best example of the theory of a "twenty year loop" in fashion, media, art and music. Her website literally has the Millennium embedded into the title and is a templated Google Image search page. Her music pulls from the early 2000s, adding the grungy dance vibes of today's EDM world with the angelic-ness of artists like Aaliyah to produce a sound that is described on her Mad Decent profile as "reminiscent of that perfect Pop/R&B tune from the 90s that you couldn’t wait to burn onto a CD so you could play it endlessly in your car after dropping your summer crush off at their house." Great imagery there. Honestly, just try LIZ on for yourself. Her project, Just Like You hit the Internet yesterday and the complete, seven-song project is sure to be talked about for some time. Pick it up/listen below!

Will Smith and Jimmy Fallon Evolution of Hip Hop Dance

[Video] Jimmy Fallon & Will Smith Perform 'The Evolution of Hip-Hop Dancing'

Jimmy Fallon recently made his move from "Late Night With Jimmy Fallon" to "The Tonight Show", ending the regin of the big-chinned man himself, Jay Leno. Fallon seems to have hit the ground running, re-hashing a version of his recurring segment with Justin Timberlake where the pair rap through the library of hip-hop, this time joining forces with none other than The Fresh Prince himself, Will Smith, who helped Jimmy get through dances like 'The Stanky Leg', 'The Cabbage Patch' and 'The Running Man'. I couldn't imagine Leno having any bend in his legs to get out of his chair, let alone bust a move with Agent J. Check out the full video of Fallon and Smith doing their thing, streaming below.

[Songs of the Day] 2/12/14 (Feat. Common, HeadHunterz & #100Trill)

Hump Day was a slower day for a lot of big artists releasing content, allowing us to branch out a bit and see what was out there. RAC keeps things upbeat midweek with their delightfully bouncy, harmonic "Repeating Motion" featuring Karl Kling and HeadHunterz offered up a stadium-sized new track to get you out of bed in and into the polar vortex with their latest in "Breakout" with Audiofreq ("Weapons ready? Let's dance"). Maya Vik gives us some 80s soul with her new song, "Totally Right", MISUN keeps things tropical in the middle of the winter with "Travel With Me". Wild Beasts tease their new album, Present Tense with a grooving, deep-bellied "Sweet Spot" while Mariah Carey adds Trey Songz to the remix of her latest hit "You're Mine (Eternal)".

Once again, this Midwest had a steady string of hip-hop hit the web today as well with Fred Santana strapping on an auto-tune jetpack on "It's Only Right", Lil Herb giving listeners some new with "Koolin" and Lyric teaming up with Caleb James for "Weekend". The duo of #100Trill dropped the first single off their upcoming Muzik 2 Check Yo Bitch 2 EP, due out in time for Valentine's Day with "Contemplating" and we get a new song from Frank Leone in "Night Brigade".

[Video] Disclosure: "Together" (Ft. Nile Rodgers, Sam Smith, Jimmy Nape)

Disclosure teamed up with Funk legend Nile Rodgers, Sam Smith and Jimmy Nape for a star-studded and talent-packed track that dropped today. The track is jammed full of more funk-slanted aesthetics than most would know how to craft into a succinct track, but the foursome does it admiringly here, creating what many are calling an instant classic. Check out the track for yourself below and decide.
