[Video] Juan Wauters: "Water"

Juan Wauters takes us to his native land of Uruguay in this warm and ingenuous video for his latest track "Water" off of his debut solo record N.A.P. North-American Poetry. The video was shot on a recent trip to Montevideo, Uruguay and pays tribute to the town and it's people, opening with a drunken happy sing-a-long to "Hey Jude" with some of the locals Wauters met while in town. Wauters' voice is unpretentious and almost childlike, pondering his existence and purpose singing "Who's that in my skin? Has he done much for me?"

Wauters hits the road in the spring, joining label-mate Mac DeMarco on tour. Put some pleasant in your day by watching this video and check out tour dates to see Juan Wauters live.

[Songs of the Day] 2/12/14 (Feat. Common, HeadHunterz & #100Trill)

Hump Day was a slower day for a lot of big artists releasing content, allowing us to branch out a bit and see what was out there. RAC keeps things upbeat midweek with their delightfully bouncy, harmonic "Repeating Motion" featuring Karl Kling and HeadHunterz offered up a stadium-sized new track to get you out of bed in and into the polar vortex with their latest in "Breakout" with Audiofreq ("Weapons ready? Let's dance"). Maya Vik gives us some 80s soul with her new song, "Totally Right", MISUN keeps things tropical in the middle of the winter with "Travel With Me". Wild Beasts tease their new album, Present Tense with a grooving, deep-bellied "Sweet Spot" while Mariah Carey adds Trey Songz to the remix of her latest hit "You're Mine (Eternal)".

Once again, this Midwest had a steady string of hip-hop hit the web today as well with Fred Santana strapping on an auto-tune jetpack on "It's Only Right", Lil Herb giving listeners some new with "Koolin" and Lyric teaming up with Caleb James for "Weekend". The duo of #100Trill dropped the first single off their upcoming Muzik 2 Check Yo Bitch 2 EP, due out in time for Valentine's Day with "Contemplating" and we get a new song from Frank Leone in "Night Brigade".

Track of the Day: Common: "Made In Black America" (Feat. Ab-Soul): Common and Ab-Soul did a song together, there's really not much more to say. Listen below.

Barber Greene Releases "Guayana" and "Dream Freak" via Public House Records

Named after a back road in Illinois farm country, Barber Greene hails from the golden corn fields of Dekalb, a simple town many local musicians have had the pleasure of calling home during college, or passing through while on tour. Though lead singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist Matt Evert now hangs his hat in fast-paced Chicago, the calming, lyrical melodies he creates paint a dream-like picture  that lingers in the air like lightning bugs on a summer night. Barber Greene's delightful vocal harmonies, sincere lyrics, and unique song structure puts listeners into a Grizzly Bear-ish haze. Barber Greene's first 7-inch"Lion Living," debuted on May 29th via Yes Club Records and Evert is in the middle of  his first full length album, due out later this fall. He recently released two awesome new tracks  "Guayana" and "Dream Freak" via Public House Records, which you check out below, along with the music video for the title track off "Lion Living."
