[Songs of the Day] 2/12/14 (Feat. Common, HeadHunterz & #100Trill)
Hump Day was a slower day for a lot of big artists releasing content, allowing us to branch out a bit and see what was out there. RAC keeps things upbeat midweek with their delightfully bouncy, harmonic "Repeating Motion" featuring Karl Kling and HeadHunterz offered up a stadium-sized new track to get you out of bed in and into the polar vortex with their latest in "Breakout" with Audiofreq ("Weapons ready? Let's dance"). Maya Vik gives us some 80s soul with her new song, "Totally Right", MISUN keeps things tropical in the middle of the winter with "Travel With Me". Wild Beasts tease their new album, Present Tense with a grooving, deep-bellied "Sweet Spot" while Mariah Carey adds Trey Songz to the remix of her latest hit "You're Mine (Eternal)".
Once again, this Midwest had a steady string of hip-hop hit the web today as well with Fred Santana strapping on an auto-tune jetpack on "It's Only Right", Lil Herb giving listeners some new with "Koolin" and Lyric teaming up with Caleb James for "Weekend". The duo of #100Trill dropped the first single off their upcoming Muzik 2 Check Yo Bitch 2 EP, due out in time for Valentine's Day with "Contemplating" and we get a new song from Frank Leone in "Night Brigade".

Here's a great loosie track from Frank Leone featuring SaveMoney's Sterling Hayes, which dropped today at six. "UNREST's" production was handled by the rising OnGaud team, who have been on a tear lately crafting a bunch of local hits and building up their resume towards a huge 2014. Stream below and be on the look out for Frank's forthcoming single "MONSTERS" featuring the homie Monster Mike.

Frank Leone: "Skate 99"
Frank Leone turned 18 today (welcome to the club homie, it sucks) and decided to release an instrumental as a special celebration. Word on the e-streets is that "Skate 99" was done with Joey Purp in mind, and I could definitely see Purp jamming to this one.
Frank Leone: "JuneLIFE"
It always feels great when an artist you've been a fan of since the very beginning starts to not only progress as a musician, but also achieves recognition from other big-name sites. I had the chance to preview Frank Leone's "JuneLIFE" a couple of weeks before its formal release and I knew from the get-go that track would expand his audience significantly, the song came out four days ago and was recently given a write-up by Respect Mag, marking yet another highlight in the emcee's young career.
"JuneLIFE" is a great summer song, that completely breaks away from the average "summer song" sound. Frank gives us a little bit of everything; a rock vocal sample, thick-layered drums, a bouncy piano melody and a guitar solo performed by producer dhjelmstad.
Frank Leone: "Don't Fight The Rain"
We haven't received a project by Frank Leone since the release of his excellent Deep Ocean EP, nonetheless we have gotten a bunch of dope singles that have raised the young up-and-comer's profile greatly. To celebrate reaching 400 followers on Twitter, Frank let loose "Don't Fight The Rain", a jazzy leak produced by Pigeon Do with one of my favorite verses by Frank in a minute.
Frank Leone: Death From Above (Prod. Gudina)
Frank Leone is back with a new track and a dope anouncement as he unleashes "Death From Above", the first single from his collaborative 'tape with L.A. producer Gudina. Frank's laid-back vocals and the incorporation of live instrumentation by Gudina make is a very smooth joint to vibe to. Basement Therapy is set to drop around the first quarter of 2013 and will feature guest-appearances by the likes of Malcolm London, Martin $ky, The GTW, and more. If you haven't yet, listen to Frank's debut Deep Ocean
