[Video] Vic Mensa, Bun B, A$AP Rocky Freestyle on MTV's Rapfix Live
If you haven't heard yet, Chicago's own Vic Mensa is killing the game lately. Having dropped his first solo project in three years, hit the road with J. Cole and Wale and spit a verse on BET, I'd say it's been a good year so far for the 19-year-old Save Money member. Never one to slow down, Mensa, hungry as ever, showed up to MTV's Rapfix eager to prove that his verse on BET's The Backroom was no fluke. What preceded was absolutely ridiculous as ever, with Mensa spitting bars for days to the point Sway literally had to stop him to go to commercial. Vic's got bars, folks and both Bun B and A$AP Rocky, two of rap's heavyweights seemed endlessly impressed. Please, do not sleep on Save Money, they just keep upping the bar. Watch the full video below.

[Album] MellowHigh: "MellowHigh"
Ever since OFWGKTA hit the scene a few years back when Tyler ate a tarantula in his over-exposed nightmare that was Bastard, Odd Future has been a staple of the modern hip-hop world. While Tyler and Earl provided the intensity and wow factor, it has always been Domo Genesis and Hodgy Beats who were recognized as the truest lyricists of the collective. Having released a couple projects as MellowHype, the pair finally teamed up with fellow OFWGKTA producer Left Brain for a full project that has been awhile in the making. True to their original name, the buzz around the album hasn't been crazy, save for a couple songs dropped on SoundCloud and the video for "Yu" which dropped earlier this month. With their latest, self-titled offering, Domo and Hodgy feel right at home over the Left Brain beats. [RH Interview] Nate Fox
A year ago, Nate Fox was living in Pittsburgh, working on a construction site. That all changed on April 30 when Chance The Rapper released his critically-acclaimed project, Acid Rap, featuring production from Fox. The past four months have taken him far from that manual labor life, traveling the country and then the world on the strength of his production and the success of Chance's latest release. To say it has been a long road is not an overstatement, after ten years plugging away in his native Pittsburgh and later Cleveland, Fox caught the ear of Chancellor with his beat for the Acid Rap single "Juice" with its quirky, bouncing, up-tempo beat. The rest is quickly becoming history as Fox and a talented team of producers including Peter CottonTale and Cam Osteen head back out on the road with Chance for his headlining Social Experiment tour. I got the opportunity to catch Fox while he was in Chicago preparing for the tour and had a chance to catch him for a few minutes between a salad and a session. Read about the crazy path his life has taken in 2013 and what lays ahead, below.
Jake: So I know you've had a crazy summer since Acid Rap dropped at the end of April, what's life been like?
Nate Fox: It's been a lot different, a lot different. Like, I don't feel any different but what I've been doing has definitely been different. It feels like a lot longer than what it's been just because its been so much compacted into such a short amount of time. You know, I was doing the construction thing. When Acid Rap dropped I was working construction in the middle of Pittsburgh, not even Pittsburgh but the middle of Pennsylvania, in the sticks. I think I left to go to LA to meet with labels and stuff in like June. And so from June until now, its been like a whirlwind of shit, like I just signed my pub deal with Disney like two or three weeks ago. I just got my check today, it came Fed Ex'ed to Pat (Corcoran)'s house today, but the ironic part is its Columbus Day and the banks are closed so I couldn't even do anything with it. So it was like ten years of waiting just to wait one more day (laughs).
Jake: Still, it always feels good to get that first check.
Nate Fox: Yeah, to get that first real check. I've gotten paid off music a whole bunch, but never to the point where I was like 'maybe I should start looking at places' you know what I mean?
[Video] Azealia Banks: "ATM Jam"
Azealia Banks' Pharrel Williams-produced single "ATM Jam" got a video treatment with a colorful affair courtesy of director Rony Alwin. Give it a look for yourself below.
Dom Kennedy: "Dominic"
Dom Kennedy is back with a new track, "Dominic" produced by DrewByrd which he released via his Soundcloud account last night. It's been a long wait for Kennedy's anticipated album, Get Home Safely, which is scheduled to drop October 15 on iTunes and through an exclusive deal he inked with Best Buy. For now, check out the song below.
[Mixtape] Meek Mill: "Dreamchasers 3"
After delivering a couple of leaks and singles Meek Mill has finally released the third installment of his Dreamchasers mixtape series. Over production by the likes of Cardo, Rio and Key Wane, Meek compiled 16 new tracks with guest-appearances by Diddy, Rick Ross, Nicki Minaj, Lil Snupe and French Montana amongst others. A handful of tracks in this 'tape are definitely worth keeping on your iTunes, so don't sleep and download Dreamchasers 3 below!
[RH First Glance] KiD Named Breezy: "Sessions II" (Feat. Ken Rebel)
While talking to producer 9th Wonder for an interview a couple years ago he mentioned something he referred to as "the twenty year loop" in music, that pop culture, music, fashion, has a tendency to come about in 20 year cycles. We definitely see that in hip-hop music (and fashion) today and today we bring you a 90s-inspired artist, Virginia native KiD Named Breezy, and his single "Sessions II" featuring Ken Rebel. The instrumental soul beats and Joey Badass-like flow show that the 21-year-old KiD knows his hip-hop forefathers. Already loaded having features with the like of Pusha T, Black Cobain and Redman under his belt, KiD is certainly someone to keep an eye on. Check out the track below and look out for his upcoming album, Abstract Tilt, due out in October.
