Kanye West announces Yeezus tour

All it took was one word, "TOUR," and just like that, the internet has erupted with excitement over Kanye West's first solo tour in five years following his co-venture with Jay Z on the Watch the Throne Tour that ended last summer. Supporting Kanye on the Yeezus Tour will be Kendrick Lamar, which should make for a very interesting pairing. Other guests are planned to join the duo throughout their dates, but they will be announced later on.

I was still working at the United Center when Kanye came back home during his Glow in the Dark Tour, and that show ended up being one of the best shows I've ever seen. What he lacked in crowd interaction, he made up for in production quality and showmanship. Say what you will about Kanye and his sometimes ridiculous antics - the man is a naturally-talented entertainer and knows how to get anybody hyped up. With both Yeezus and My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy ripe for solo show exploration, the Yeezus Tour might be one of his best tours yet.

The full flyer and list of tour dates are below. Tickets for the Yeezus Tour go on sale next Friday, September 13th.

Terrace Martin: "Triangleship" (feat. Kendrick Lamar)

Terrace Martin nabs Kendrick Lamar for a jazzy new song off the former's upcoming 3ChordFold album. Martin speaks on an odd relationship between him and two women at the same time in "Triangleship" and all pros-and-cons from trying to keep it going while K. Dot handles hook-duty only. Listen below.

[Video] A$AP Mob & Flex Talk Kendrick

It's the only thing on anyone's mind, or maybe everyone is just taking the easy route for interview questions. But regardless, Kendrick Lamar was brought up again in a public forum, this time on Hot 97 with A$AP Mob and Funkmaster Flex. In response to Kendrick's claim as "King of New York" Rocky said "As far as that King of New York shit, you smoking crack." A breathtaking rebuttal. He goes on to talk about how silly the whole thing has been and how important the verse was for the larger hip-hop game. The ironic thing is that everyone mentioned in the song has been largely seen sitting somewhere talking about what Kendrick said, instead of raising the bar the way K Dot prodded them to.

Big Sean: "Control" (feat. Kendrick Lamar & Jay Electronica)

Shortly after Big Sean released this bonus cut from his upcoming Hall of Fame album, my Twitter timeline started blowing up with tweets regarding Kendrick Lamar's feature on said track. I found this a bit-odd seeing as the ever-elusive Jay Electronica was also on the bill and, although Kendrick is arguably the best emcee doing it right now, I thought Jay Elec being there would take the spotlight away from the L.A. native. One listen to Kendrick's verse on the No I.D.-produced, "Control", and I could hear what all the buzz was about. K. Dot went ahead, lyrically murked his competition and even name-dropped a handful of heavy-hitters in the industry. Listen below and let us know in the c-section who do you think will come at Kendrick Lamar the hardest, if anyone?

[Video] Schoolboy Q: “Collard Greens” (feat. Kendrick Lamar)

I didn't feel to strong when I first heard Schoolboy Q's “Collard Greens". Nonetheless, as Summer started heating up, this Kendrick Lamar-featured record found its way into my playlist with a lot of the credit going to the banging production provided by THC and the two emcee's synergy. Today, the official video for the single has been released and we find Schoolboy, Kendrick and Macklemore at a house party filled with video vixens and illicit substances. Watch below.

[Video] Lollapalooza Sampler Platter

In case you missed the action this weekend we put together a quick sampler platter of the most entertaining performances of the weekend. Chance took over the BMI stage Friday evening while sandwiched between Queens of The Stone Age, Flux Pavilion and New Order before Nine Inch Nails and Steve Aoki finished things up. On Saturday Mumford & Sons closed out the day on the Red Bull Sound Select Stage while The Poastal Service united in person to re-hash their 2003 pen-pal album Give Up  to follow a strong day that saw Kendrick Lamar, Charles Bradley, Ellie Goulding grace Grant Park. Sunday featured a little of everything with 2 Chainz, Beach House and Two Door Cinema Club rounding the day out before The Cure took the stage. Watch below.

Solange: "Looks Good With Trouble" (feat. Kendrick Lamar)

The remix of Solange's "Looks Good With Trouble" featuring Kendrick Lamar just dropped. The song mixes Solange's smoky vocals with Kendrick's smooth delivery. I'll just keep this post short; go check out the song below!
