Tamara Lichtenstein's Sun-Drenched Photography

Photos by Tamara Lichtenstein

I happened to come across these photos from photographer Tamara Lichtenstein that I had to share. There is something about her style of photography that I really like, most particularly the use of natural light. When looking at her photos, you are taken into what she sees of the world around her, which to me is surreal. She has used her talents for companies like Urban Outfitters and Converse, just to name a few, and is currently working on a new book with Editions de LIC, so go ahead and check out some of her work.

Dopeboymagic 2013 Fall/Winter

Dopeboymagic 2013 Fall/Winter "October '96" Collection

Photos by Trashhand

Photographer Trashhand and Joe Fresh Goods team up once again for dopeboymagic's latest release for their Fall/Winter "October '96" collection. The latest release takes us back to a time when streetwear was streetwear, when a lot of us rocked Ice Berg, Karl Kani, all the other brands of the '90s, and when Timbos were worn in winter and summer.

It's a solid collection with a variety of graphic tees, all-over prints, along with buttons-ups and some dope outerwear. Trashhand really captured the feel of the collection showcasing the brand around the city of Chicago with some really gritty images creating a cold atmosphere. Check out the lookbook and make sure to visit the Dopeboymagic shop here.

Rihanna for 032c Winter 2013

Looks like Rihanna is back at it again after appearing in British GQ, this time teaming up with photographers Inez van Lamsweerde and Vindooh Matadoin. The trio worked together for an editorial for the contemporary culture magazine 032c for their latest Winter 2013 issue. The photos were shot on Broome Street in Lower Manhattan, and I really am digging what they created for the spread, which was shot entirely in black and white.

As 032c states, "Rihanna  is the unfiltered and fiercely productive icon that every era needs and obsesses about." Regardless if that's true or not, one thing I'm sure of is that these are some great photos, so go ahead and check them out.

The Sewer People Of Bucharest

In New York, there are urban legends that gators live in the sewer systems and some kids believe that Ninja Turtles live there as well. Whether any of it has some truth to it remains to be seen, but who knows? I'm sure something lives in the sewers. If you live in Bucharest Romania there's something entirely different living in the city's sewer system. Photographer Jen Tse set out to photograph the sewer people of Bucharest... Yes, you read that right - sewer people.

They are actually a group of kids that have lived in the sewers since dictator  Nicolae Ceausescu's reign was over back in 1989. Nicolae had this idea that if he outlawed contraception, abortion, and forced women to have at least four kids, it would "boost the country’s workforce and reverse low birth and fertility rates." This didn't work, leaving families unable to take care of their children, leaving many to fend for themselves on the streets. Many of these kids took refuge in the city's sewers and stayed there. Check out the photos of the life these people live. Head on over to Vice for the full story.

Jonathan Mannion Celebrates His Studio with the Modelo #BlankCanvasME Series

One of the great hip hop photographers we have seen in the last 10 years has to change his studio address to make way for condos. Photographer Jonathan Mannion is closing his studio doors this December after being forced out by his landlord from the sale of the property. Due the situation, Jonanthan decided to celebrate the good times, and under Modelo's #BlankCanvasMe campaign, invited several close friends to have their portraits captures and signed. Some of the people that were in attendance were Jeff Staple, 40 Oz Van, Dante Ross, and more.
