Nicholas Maggio’s “Wild Hearts, Blue Jeans, and White T-shirts” Project NSFW

Photographer Nicholas Maggio has decided to go forward with a passion project of his that he's had for quite some time. Featuring a variety of models for the project, including the likes of Adrianne Ho, Taja Feistner, Adrianne Ho, Kylie Cusick, Nicholas kept it simple. To sum it all up, the project consists of pretty girls in their white tees going with a natural look in front of a black drop. The results are awesome; you have to admire the simplicity of the photos and the freedom the models had to control how the images would turn out. As Nicholas states, "The idea is to 'strip' everything from these models except for a standard tee, no makeup, no hair stylist, no direction, and take pictures of them being them." For more photos from the "Wild Hearts, Blue Jeans, and White T-Shirts," project visit its Tumblr page here.

Irina Shayk For GQ Russia

Sports Illustrated model Irina Shayk graces the cover of the August issue of GQ Russia. For this shoot, Irina ditches the bikinis and white sandy beaches to gives us a more grungy look. Photographer David Roemer took some great shots of Irina and really captured a side of her we don't normally see. Styled in nothing but all black outfits and a lot of leather, the shoot looks like scenes straight out of Death Race. If you're not located in Russia at this time, you can see the photo spread below.

When Buddhists Go Bad

When you hear the word Buddhist or think of Buddhism, it typically brings up thoughts of peace and tranquility. For me, I picture images of monks with shaven heads and long wavy robes meditating in temples; I picture a person who is at total peace with themselves and their environment, someone who would do no harm to anybody or anything, not even a fly. But over the past year in parts of Asia, a new type of radical Buddhist has formed that has lead to a huge conflict between Buddhists and Muslims in Burma, Thailand, and Sri Lanka. Many Muslims are being attacked and killed by Buddhist mobs by the encouragement of one man, Wirathu, who has taken the title of Burmese Bin Laden. He has taken to the streets to preach his views to anybody who will listen, preaching against Islam. In Thailand, Buddhist monks are being protected by soldiers due to the conflict and retreating to their temples. With the violence continuing to mount, time will only tell what will happen between the two groups. Check out the photos below and for more information and photos check out Time here.
