Photographer and Cosplayer Recreate Iconic Horror Movie Photos

Photos by David Love

The creative opportunities are endless when you collaborate a photographer, a cosplayer, and a makeup artist. Throw in a mutual love for horror movies and you have one thrilling photo series. This is exactly what happened when Graphic Artist/Photographer David Love was approached by renowned cosplay enthusiast Leah Borroughs, also known as Callie Cosplay, to do a photo shoot inspired by Carrie, a horror movie classic. Add talented make up artist Elia Lizcano with Love's great Photoshop skills, and the shoot evolved into an amazing recreation of several iconic horror movie scenes.

The Photographer Who Traveled Through Time

Photos by Chino Otsuka

Imagine being able to go back in time to find yourself. What would you tell the younger you? Or maybe it would be best to not say anything and simply relive the moment.

As the genre of self-portraiture gains popularity in contemporary photography, we often seek answers within ourselves on our personal identity. London-based photographer Chino Otsuka did just that in her photo series "Imagine Finding Me". A series of unique 'double self-portraits' made between 2005 and 2009, around a collection of her personal childhood photos. Here, Chino Otsuka photoshopped her present self into these selected childhood photographs, creating a visual time travel while eloquently demonstrating the relationship of time and memory in photography.

Check out of some these photos and allow yourself to imagine your own time travel.

Pablo Inirio: Editing Before Photoshop

Not everyone can create an iconic image, there are a lot of variables involved and sometimes it just a stroke of luck but it does take skill. "Pablo Inirio, long time master printer for photographer cooperative group, Magum Photos, has laid his hands on some of the most famous photos of all time." Now as you can see the photos have notes written all over so Inirio knew where he wanted to edit the photo whether by lighting or darkining areas to create the final image. Before digital cameras and photo shop a photographer would use a dark room to edit their film the way they pleased and Inirio has still been working like this even with all the new technology.
